Tour Bus Trips & Travel
Currently, I have lived most of my life in Oshkosh (and 6 years in Whitewater). I married my husband in 1971, raised four children (2 boys and 2 girls), farmed with him on his family dairy farm and graduated college as a non-traditional student in 1998. I am a retired 4-H Youth Educator where I worked with children ages five all the way through freshmen in college. I worked with many of these kids for many years in a row and still connect with them, my 4-H Family, today on Facebook. I also have five wonderful grandchildren.
A passion I’ve had my whole life has been traveling. I believe this was instilled in me by parents who loved to travel. As a child I remember exploring all of Wisconsin and the UP with them on camping trips. When I became an adult, I traveled on vacations all over the United States, taking my mom or younger cousins with me. Marrying a dairy farmer, those travels were cut down to day trips to explore Wisconsin’s many treasurers: State Parks, County Parks, waterfalls, bike trails, snowmobile trails and so on. With the death of my husband and then retiring from work, I was alone to travel the world. I’ve been to Africa (Egypt and Kenya), Europe (10 countries), South America (Brazil and Peru), China twice. The last 10 years or so, I’ve traveled all over the United States. I’ve visited over 360 National Parks all over the country. I’ve traveled by motorcycle to Seattle, to Key West, and to Washington, D.C.
My goal in life is to always keep learning and to live each day like it is your last. I lost my father and mother, both at an early age. My husband passed away in 1998. These events made me realize that everyone needs to treasure each and every day. Today, I continue to take classes and further my education on many topics. One of the last classes I took was how to use my new IPad! And now, I have my new business!
For 10 years, I’d planned about 15 trips a year- both day trips and longer-as a volunteer at the Oshkosh Senior Center. I’d always been excited about sharing with others all there is to enjoy in our state and our country. I’ve had many comments made to me that I should start my own company. So one day eight years ago, I figured now was a good time to open a new door. So, welcome to Carol’s Country Tours! Won’t you come travel with me!
